October has to be my favorite time of year. The colors of fall, the smell of pumpkins, and the crunch of dried leaves all make me a giddy girl. It's also that time of year to break out the scary movies, dress in crazy costumes, and enjoy the dark side of Halloween--all of which I love!

To celebrate not only Halloween and this fabulous time of of year, but also the release of DEAD PLAINS The Final Installment of The Zombie West Series, I've joined COFFIN HOP.

What is a Coffin Hop, you may well ask?The quick answer is that we are a loose association of hundreds of horror authors and artists who get together for the week before Halloween, when we throw a colossal online party with prizes, giveaways and all the crazy you could want leading up to All Hallow’s Eve. Join everyone between October 24 – 31 to get in on the biggest, baddest, Helloweeniest online event of the year! Free books! Contests! Prizes! NEW SURPRISES AT EVERY SITE!

If you love Halloween as much as I do, you will NOT want to miss out on this. There are over 70+ authors and artists participating and they are giving away a SLEW of prizes. Just click on the picture above to take to a list of blogs and enter ALL the giveaways you can (that's what I'm going to do). I'm offering my own HUGE zombie giveaway, so check out the rafflecopter link below. There are lots of chances to win. Have fun and Happy Halloween everyone! Pop back here later in the week for a few flash giveaways as well.

Today's flash giveaway is a bag of ZOMBIE FOOD chocolate. Just leave a comment below, letting me know what you love most about this time of year, and I will randomly select from the comments. If you're international, please feel free to comment, but I will award you an Amazon Gift Card instead since shipping is INSANE.

It looks gross, but they are delicious!

I have loved Halloween ever since I can remember! I think when I was a kid, it was the ability to dress up as anything you wanted, to be who you weren't! I still like to dress up (now I have 3 kids of my own and we take our costumes very seriously), but my favorite part now is all the wonderful, cut-for tv horror movies on during the month that I can share with my kids! Happy Halloween!

Fabulous time of year, definitely my favourite. I love it all, the colours, the freshness in the air, the dark long nights but especially I love catching sight of the bright white moon in the morning against a blue sky. Always makes me feel good!!

Choose one thing I love about this time of year? Impossible! There is simply too much: the weather, the leaves, pumpkin pie, Halloween, scary stories, horror marathons...the list goes one! :-)

I love this time of year mainly because I don't stand out as much as I do the rest of the year. I love everything horror-related all year long.

I think my favorite thing about this time of year is that for about a month my favorite genre is king--horror movies are on most TV channels, people wear gross costumes, all of it. That zombie food candy looks awesome! Just in case I don't win, where did you get it? Grocery store, or special order?

OOhhh! Zombie food! But you know what zombies are infamous for, right? You should not dangle their favorite treats on their half-rotten faces! Unless you have a shotgun on that hand behind your back... *retreating cowardly*

My favourite part of the Halloween season is getting to watch all of my favourite movies on TV in marathon format. It's never a boring moment :)

Halloween is a day of reflection for me. I hoard my time for self-examination. How can I be a better person... and how much of a monster lives inside me? That's why, when, like at the doctor's office on Wednesday, someone tells me not to read horror or paranormal fiction, because it's letting evil in, my mind, I tell them that it isn't letting it in, but reminding us of our own flaws and the possibility of redemption.

Hi, Angela. How's it going? Are you enjoying the hop so far? I hope so. I'm getting a later start this year due to my crazy schedule at the day job. In any event, I have put down my current WIP and have climbed out of writer's cave to spent the week with all the hoppers.
Thanks for the giveaway opportunities.
