Why are people fascinated with zombies? I'm guessing the same reason they are taken with vampires and other undead and immortal things. Death is scary and mysterious. I think it is the fear of death and what happens after. They see being a zombie as an afterlife.

Why do I think people are so fascinated with Zombies? As a society, we fear ourselves most of all. Changing ourselves in Zombies, it's just an easier way of processing that fear.

I tried to get to the points, but it's to large on my IPhone & will not go smaller!! I'm disabled & can't get to the computer to enter on there!!! People are fascinated by zombies, because they are a side of ourselves we don't like to think about. Mindless drones pulled towards one goal, in their case flesh, in most cases money/power.

I enjoy zombie stories because they touch on our fundamental need to identify and reinforce what it is that makes us human. Learning that someone we care about is in fact a monster is easier to process and accept if we can remove our own human identity from that individual. Plus, who doesn't love a gross, festering corpse of someone's grandmother chasing teenaged delinquents, hoping to gum a bite of what little used brains she can get. ;) May I have a copy for Kindle to read and review? Thanks so much!

I for one think people are so interested in zombie because we are fascinated with death and are scared of dying but even more scared of losing our souls(for those of us who believe we have souls) and because if we were in a zombie apocalypse we would be to let our anger and frustrations of everyday life out in a very constructive way. lol

I think people are so taken with zombies because they don't think they are real. They don't believe that people could turn into a zombie. Besides all that it is horror and a whole lot of killing.

And why are people fascinated with zombies? Something that can infect anybody and everybody, harder to kill, and the possibility that you would have to take out those close to you. Also with all the gmo crap they are tinkering with now a days makes it a good possibility it will happen. Maybe we are just preparing ourselves..

I like zombie stories not so much for the gory zombie munching, but because of the human stories that take place at the time of crisis. Robert Kirkman said it best in his writers' note for THE WALKING DEAD: It's how people behave when the chips are down that's the main fascination.
