I forgot to wear my knee brace yesterday. I got to the park and realized my mistake, but thought I would be okay. Boy was I wrong. My knee is killing me. It snaps, crackles and pops while I walk. Going up and down my stairs is a nightmare, and I have three flights of them in my house. I have the brace on now and will probably wear it all day. I planned to walk the course this afternoon, but with my knee burning and tweaking, I think I had best take it easy today. My mind is willing. My body is putting up a fight.
I think I pushed it a little too hard this week. I want to see what I can do. I’m not patient enough to take it slowly as every running website, and blog I read suggests for the beginner runner. Tomorrow I’ll not run as far (if you consider what I run as being far). I’ll take it a bit more slowly. So, I am down, but I am not out. I make take this opportunity to go buy some new running shoes and see what running experts say about tight calf muscles. **Thank you every body for the wonderful comments and encouragement. Yesterday this blog reached its highest hit count to date, almost 90 hits!!

That’s right! Don’t let any injury keep you from running. You might want to do other activities to strengthen your knees, like swimming or taking a nice stroll in your neighborhood or at the park. Consider your injuries as motivation to beat your own personal record.
