I Better Get my Big Butt in Gear!

 

I had every intention to follow the running guide on the training tab above—every intention indeed. Can I get credit for having good intentions? I really thought I would do it. But life had other plans for me.

This week has been insane. I am a member of the PTA--enough said. I was in charge of the Grandparents Breakfast at my children’s school. It’s a bigger job than it sounds, let me tell you. Buying enough food to feed 1,000 people is a difficult thing to do. The Grandparents Breakfast sucked me in, took over nearly all my time (a good 15 hours on Wednesday alone), and left everything else to fall by the way side.

My children have been eating fat food (whoa, I typed that wrong, but I’m leaving it. It’s so true) for the last several nights. Laundry piles have multiplied and dishes have not been touched. I have felt like a chicken running around with its head cut off for the past week. Sleep? What's that?

Thank heavens its over! Halleluiah! It was a success. All is well. I now have my life back.

I promise, I really do, to start the training program on Monday. I will do it. No matter how awful I think running is or how weak and pathetic I am. The 5k is coming up in April. I really, really want to give it a go, a full-blown good effort on my part.

Actually, I don’t want to—I NEED to. If I plan on surviving the Ragnar race in June, I had better get my big butt in gear.

(What do you think of the picture? It's a real rock called "Butt Rock" which is found in Joshua Tree National Park I believe. I thought it was funny...my twisted humor I guess. If it's too much let me know, or do you have a twisted humor too?)
