It's here! It's finally here! WANTED: DEAD OR UNDEAD is one of the first Evolved Publishing's books to now be offered as an audio book. That's HUGE! What a way to end 2013. So exciting. Check out the sample by the amazing Rebecca Roberts (the narrator) and snag yourself a copy. You can check it out HERE.

Success as a whole is a HUGE thing to tackle all at once. It's better to take baby steps. How do you eat an elephant? The answer: one bite at a time. That's how we should approach our goals as well. What is your long term goal? Publish your novel, perhaps? Finish your first draft? Build your social platform? Write a blog? Then break it down into bite-sized chunks. To look at the whole elephant would make anyone give up before they even begin. To look at what you can do TODAY to move you one step closer is far more manageable. Maybe all you can do today is write one paragraph. Did it move you forward? Of course it did! That counts. Maybe it was to send out one tweet. That counts too. But whatever it is, keep doing it. Every day. 365 days of the year. We've all got metaphorical zombies in our lives. Those hideous life-altering forces that feed on our weaknesses and our doubts. These zombies could be people who rush to squash our hopes and dreams and deem our efforts pointless and of no value. You know those people. The ones who will make a comment on your blog post simply to point out a mistake or those people who when they see you succeeding where they still struggle decide to vanish from your life, taking a large chunk of you with them. We've all met these people--negative kill joys who simply can not be happy for you. Why do people do that to one another? Human nature? No, it's zombie nature, to feed on another person to make them weaker, to make them just like everyone else--shambling, mindless, hopeless. They enjoy it. They desire it.
But there are other zombies in our lives as well and these ones tend to be more vicious. These zombies are like the ones from the movie World War Z. Fast, unforgiving, destructive, and instant. These are the zombies we carry around within ourselves--the little voice that tells you to give up, you're useless, worthless, and will NEVER be good at anything. These zombies are harder to destroy, but that doesn't mean they can't be dealt with. With the mid-season finale here and no The Walking Dead to entertain me on Sunday nights, I decided to share some of my favorite memes. Why? Why not!
Seriously, it's fun and it helps me and you to procrastinate doing the things we should (like I should be writing now). Let's call it a nice little break before doing something real with our day :) REVIEWS, REVIEWS, REVIEWS--I need to get me some! #zombietrilogy (Prizes for Participating)12/10/2013 Now that the Zombie West Trilogy is completed and we have included ALL three books (plus two exclusive short stories and bonus material) in one omnibus edition, it's time to garner reviews--and fast! So, let's do a giveaway with prizes! I would like to get up as many reviews by FEBRUARY 1, 2014 as I possibly can. The giveaway will go a little something like this: as reviews come in, I will keep adding possible prizes to the rafflecoppter--author signed Zombie Bookmarks, Zombie T-shirts, author signed books, a pair of Zombie PJ's, The Zombie Flux Card Game, Decks of Zombie Playing Cards, Zombie Necklace, Amazon Gift Cards. Different prizes will be unlocked as more reviews are added. Every five new reviews WILL unlock another prize. This could potentially be HUGE! (I love giving away zombie stuff). So right now, there are only THREE possible prizes. Once there are FIVE reviews up on Amazon, I will continue to add more and the Amazon Gift Card will be bumped up from $5 to $10. See how this works? Fun, huh? A twitter bio is your opportunity to tell the world all about yourself--what you like, what you do, ANYTHING--but you only have 160 characters to do it in. It's kind of awesome like that! As far as twitter bio's go, mine's pretty mundane (You can click on the bird button over there <--- to check me out if you wanna), but I've seen quite a few over the years that make me chuckle, smile, and downright wish I'd thought of that first. There have also been ones that make me go, HUH? And still more that make me scared (What kind of a weirdo are you? Doesn't matter, I will follow you to find out). Some are witty. Some are profound. It's interesting what people do with their 160 characters. It's quite telling. Here's a few for you to enjoy: |
