Not her again.
Not today. I sigh and pull out my phone, too, and press record. Best have a video of our interaction to counter her video of me. She’s called me a “Karen,” I’ve called her a twat. I mean, good god, the sidewalk is wide enough for the both of us – walk near the wall, and I’ll walk near the road. Such a simple solution. But she’s going to step closer to the middle, inevitably. So annoying. We draw closer, phones in hand. “Good day,” she says. “Good day,” I say. We both know we don’t mean it. (100 words)

I met a "Karen" of sorts today. I was tossing the ball around for my son's dog in a public park not thinking a thing of it. An animal control truck came by saying it was a leach only area. I asked him where I could take the dog and he just kept saying something about "signs" and wouldn't provide any helpful advice. I left after being rather unpleasant to him. He probably didn't deserve it, but all he had to do was tell me what I could play ball with the dog. She's more well-behaved than 99% of people I encounter (including me).

Oh, I'm so sorry! Yes, most dogs are better behaved than most people. I'd take a dog over a human any day! It definitely is hard to find dog friendly parks, especially off-leash ones. I'm a dog owner myself. Best of luck! Pet your puppy for me!

Distrust and intolerance run rampant these days.

Such a real life situation, people on their own world on their phones, oblivious to others.

Makes me wonder if the Hatfield-McCoy feud is still going on. Ego and a refusal to forget the past has made a lot of misery in this world. In real life, I would recommend these two have a restorative justice mediation in hopes of clearing the air. Good, thought-provoking story, Angela.

Mediation could solve a lot of problems, honestly. But everyone thinks they are the hero in their story.
