In my opinion, there are TWO kinds of cinnamon:
the good kind (cinnamon bear cinnamon, yum) and then the bad kind (the cinnamon found in baking and cold cereals, and splashed all over Christmas everything, yuck). I've never truly enjoyed cinnamon rolls or cinnamon bread, and I have especially NEVER enjoyed any kind of cinnamon cereal. Not my favorite at all. Now, does that mean I won't eat baked goods with cinnamon in them? No, I will, sometimes. But they are not my go-to treat of choice. Cinnamon donut or plain? Plain, please. Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Grape Nut cereal? Hand over the Grape Nut. It has been this way for as long as I can remember, back to when I was a kid. But Angela, how can you not like a good ol' freshly baked cinnamon roll? I don't know. I just don't...not really. I'd totally scarf down an orange roll or two anytime though! Per delish!
Now, cinnamon bears, especially cinnamon bears deep coated in chocolate, or cinnamon suckers, candy, gum or even Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey...HAND. THEM. OVER! If anyone wanted to lure me into a white kidnapper van, just line the path to the sliding door with chocolate covered cinnamon bears, and I'm yours. That is the cinnamon I'm talking about! The nearly burn your face off cinnamon.
So, my question is this: how are these two cinnamons both called cinnamon? It makes no sense to me. They seem so vastly different. Could I Google this or ask ChatGPT? Sure, but I'm lazy and I've got you, dear readers, to enlighten me :) And I really hope you do. Drop a comment. Let me know how you feel about the extreme differences of these two types of cinnamons. Or do you not see/taste a difference? Anyhoo...let's discuss. I'm all ears! Just Jot January brought to you by Linda G. Hill and Today's Prompt Word "cinnamon" suggested by Tessa
