When you become an author known for writing zombies, you better start loving the gross, brain-munching creatures like A LOT. And I do!
Zombies have become the new vampire, with the craze that is THE WALKING DEAD (love, love, love), movies like WORLD WAR Z (which I totally plan to see) and WARM BODIES (totally love). And let's not even mention ALL the new zombie video games out there that people can't wait to get their hands on.
It's a huge phenomenon. But why? Why are we so fascinated with the undead?
Perhaps, Mansfield University Professor of English Dr. John Ulrich who studies pop culture and teaches a course in monster literature, says it best:
"Zombies are the flip side of the culture's obsession with youth, beauty and sex," Ulrich answers.
Whatever the reason, I love them, and a whole lot of people can't get enough. Zombies have been around since the 1920's and I have a feeling they're here to stay.
